One person was killed and another injured in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in Dallas County, according to the Arkansas State Police.
The crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 79 and State Highway 273.
Authorities identified the victim as 72-year-old James M. Kidd of Camden. Kidd, the driver of a 2020 Toyota Corolla, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the same vehicle, 65-year-old Terry L. Ware of Camden, was injured and transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for treatment.
According to the preliminary report, a 2020 Freightliner traveling west on West 4th Street failed to yield to oncoming traffic. A 2007 Peterbilt traveling south on U.S. 79 attempted to avoid the Freightliner and struck the Toyota before colliding with the Freightliner.
The crash occurred under cloudy conditions on a dry roadway.
