A $20,000 bond was set Monday for a Little Rock man accused of hitting and choking his daughter.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge James Riley, 46, with aggravated assault on a family or household member.

Reading from an affidavit from Detective Shaun Watson, Deputy Prosecutor Ty Spradlin said on Friday, police were sent to a house on Fluker Street in response to a battery report.

Police talked to the victim’s mother who said the incident occurred on the 14th but police were not called.

When Riley was questioned, he admitted being at the house that day but denied hitting or choking the victim.

He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court June 5.
