Following Saturday’s shooting that left three people injured, the John Cain Aquatic Center in Stuttgart is scheduled to reopen on Tuesday, June 23rd, with several new safety measures in place.
In a Facebook post, the facility announced updated rules requiring guests to be in swim attire, prohibiting loitering, and implementing a new bag policy.
Officials also said anyone who has already booked a private party at the center will be contacted regarding the changes.
The updated policies include the following:
1. Follow all lifeguards’ instructions at all times.
2. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult
3. Life vests are allowed; inflatables are not permitted
4. No running, diving, horseplay, or rough play
5. Proper swimwear is required. No cutoffs or street clothes
6. No outside food or drinks allowed inside the facility
7. Help keep our park clean. Please dispose of trash properly
8. Respect fellow guests and pool staff
9. No drugs, alcohol, or tobacco products of any kind
10. No smoking or vaping
11. No weapons of any kind
12. No playing loud music
13. No profanity, abusive language, or disruptive behavior
