The Grant County Election Commission has agreed to allow Deputy County Clerk Pualani Berry to drop her duties as election coordinator temporarily because she is a candidate for office.
According to the Sheridan Headlight, Berry is a candidate for the Grant County Circuit/County Clerk position currently held by Geral Harrison, who is not seeking reelection.
Angel Stewart, who also works in the Clerk’s Office, was appointed coordinator for the upcoming election.
If any runoffs are needed, the commission voted to have all the voting done in the courthouse in the same way early voting is done. Early voting for the March 3 election begins Feb. 17.
