Every day, there are people in our community quietly making a difference in the lives of children and families—and it’s time to celebrate them.
The Children’s Advocacy Center of Southeast Arkansas (CACSEA) is proud to introduce our Community Leader Honoree Awards as part of the 2nd Annual Champion for Children Charity Gala.
For those who may not know, CACSEA serves children and families impacted by physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, and trauma throughout Southeast Arkansas.
Sadly, many survivors of abuse—especially sexual abuse—suffer in silence. Many never tell anyone what happened to them. When a child finally finds the courage to speak, the last thing they need is to relive their trauma over and over again.
That’s where CACSEA steps in.
Through recorded forensic interviews, children are able to share their story in a safe, child-focused environment with a trained forensic interviewer.
Rather than repeating painful details multiple times, information is shared with our Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) partners, helping reduce additional trauma to the child.
Behind the scenes, law enforcement and investigative partners can observe interviews through specialized viewing rooms, allowing important information to be gathered in real time while protecting the child’s emotional well-being.
CACSEA also works alongside Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE) and medical professionals to ensure children receive time-sensitive medical care and support immediately, because when abuse occurs, minutes matter.
Our staff is on call because abuse does not happen on a schedule.
Children and families may need support at any time—day or night, and while our staff works tirelessly, they do not work alone.
It takes compassionate professionals, mentors, coaches, faith leaders, volunteers, educators, advocates, and everyday community members helping protect, guide, and uplift children every single day.
