The VFW, American Legion and the Lincoln County Veteran’s Association will hold their annual Veteran’s Day program at 5 p.m. on Nov. 11, according to the Lincoln County Ledger newspaper.

The paper reported that the program will be held at the Veteran’s Park, Highway 425 south, beginning at 5 p.m.

Local Cub Scout Pack 212 will hold a flag retirement ceremony before the program, beginning at 4 p.m.

The newspaper quoted Lincoln County Veteran’s Service Officer Chris McGee as saying “given the disrespect shown by so many people to our flag and our country these days, it is refreshing to see the Cub Scouts perform this ceremony to properly dispose of distressed American flags. If you are able, please come and witness this important event.”
