Like many counties and cities across the state, Lincoln County is looking for people with Commercial Driver’s Licenses (CDL) to drive the trucks they use to haul gravel to road construction sites.

On Tuesday, Lincoln County Judge Buddy Lynn Earnest was a guest on the Oldies 1013 morning show and said his county needs at least one CDL driver but could use two but when asked how much those drivers would be paid, Earnest said “less than $15 an hour.”

Morning show host Greg Horne said the demand far exceeds the supply and Earnest responded this way.

Horne then asked Earnest if the count Quorum Court could do anything to help increase the salaries and Earnest said no.
