Jefferson Regional Hospital and the Jones-Dunklin Cancer Center are sponsoring a Men’s Health Fair this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the parking lot at 40th Avenue and Hickory Street.

On Thursday, hospital spokeswoman Wendy Talbot and Kathy Ross, director of the Jones-Dunklin Cancer Center were guests on the Oldies 1013 morning show to talk about the event.

The event will be taking place at the same time as the Arkansas Razorback football game and Ross said there will be large screen projection televisions so fans can keep up with the action while taking part in screenings, games and the chance to win prizes.

Morning show host Greg Horne asked Ross what exactly will be going on and she responded this way.

Asked by Horne about the FIT kits, Ross said those are used to screen for colon cancer.

She went on to say that hospital employees from physical therapy, occupational therapy and the wellness center will also be on hand.

There will be no charge to attend the health fair and Talbot and Ross said the State Police, Pine Bluff Police and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department will all be on hand to ensure that the event will be safe.
