With an increase in the number of new cases of COVID-19 in Arkansas, Jefferson County Judge Gerald Robinson said he is concerned and is looking at what he can do.

On Wednesday, Deltaplex News asked Robinson if he was considering reinstituting a mask mandate for county buildings.

Arkansas has one of the lowest vaccination rates in the country and Robinson said Jefferson County is one of the lowest counties in the state in terms of the number of people vaccinated. He was asked why that is so.

“We’ve got to try and do a better job of getting folks vaccinated,” Robinson said. “People are dying from COVID-19. That’s a reality.”
