A Hamburg woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Ashley County Wednesday.
According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, Linda K. Harville, 79, was westbound on Polk Street crossing U.S. Highway 425 when she failed to yield right of way and the 2005 Chrysler she was driving was struck by a 2007 Chevrolet that was northbound on U.S. 425 in the inside lane.
The driver of the Chevrolet, who was not identified in the report, was not injured.
The accident was reported at 6:55 p.m. and according to the report, the weather was cloudy, and the roadway dry at the time. The death was the 575th so far this year on the state’s highways.
