Grant County Sheriff Pete Roberts recently updated the Grant County Quorum Court on his department, talking about grants the department has received recently.

One of those grants, for $21,300 from the Department of Public Safety was used to buy bullet proof vests, cameras and external storage.

The Sheridan Headlight newspaper reported that a $113,175 grant from the Highway Traffic Safety administration was used to buy new computers and equipment for vehicles.

Roberts reported that two new Ford Pursuit trucks have been bought, with one of them having arrived and the second on the way.
Records showed that the Sheriff’s Patrol Division has taken f1,197 calls, conducted 152 traffic stops, issued 210 tickets and 209 warnings. Deputies have written 217 reports, worked 36 accidents and made 1,175 property checks.
