Last week, Ryan Watley, the CEO of Go Forward Pine Bluff men with five members of the Pine Bluff City Council to get their thoughts on extending the sales tax, which is currently set to expire at the end of 2024.

On Monday, Watley appeared on the Oldies 101.3 morning show and talked about that meeting.

Those who did not attend included Council Member Glen Brown Jr., who had a prior commitment but Watley said Brown Jr., is a member of the Public Private Partnership Review Committee, and there have been numerous conversations during those meetings.

Council members Glen Brown Sr., Steven Mays and Lloyd Holcomb also did not attend.

Asked what he would like to see happen, Watley said this.

Morning show host Greg Horne asked Watley about two of their programs, the incentive program for teaches and for public safety personnel and Watley said the focus of the teachers program changed to fit the need of the school district.

About 20 firefighters and police officers have taken advantage of a program that provides up to $10,000 to build or repair a home in return for a five-year commitment to their department.
