The Jefferson County Board of Election Commissioners announced Tuesday a change will be made in the processing of absentee ballots for the Nov. 3 General Election.
Commission Chairman Mike Adam said in the notice that due to the large number of returned absentee ballots, the ballot canvas will be at the Election Center at 123 S. Main St., Saturday, Oct. 31, beginning at 10 a.m.
Processing will continue Sunday, Nov. 1 if needed, beginning at either 10 a.m. or 1 p.m., then Monday at either 10 a.m. or 1 p.m., and counted on Tuesday, Nov. 2, beginning at 10 a.m. The absentee results will be announced at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
