At its most recent meeting, the Drew County Quorum Court approved a year-end stipend for county employees.

According to the Advance Monticellonian newspaper, current full-time employees with a year or more of employment will receive $750 and currently employed part-time employees with at least a year of service will receive $250.

Employees with less than a year of service will receive a prorated amount based on their length of service.

In other business, Planning Commission chair Dan Boyce said  that the request for proposals for the old armory are due Dec. 1  and a the next meeting he hopes to have more information. At the December meeting, their Planning Commission will also present their Comprehensive Plan for the future of Monticello in the next 25 years with a focus on infrastructure. The plan will also focus on transportation, physical health and quality of life issues.
