The Arkansas Senate will hear a bill Monday that will make drag racing on a highway in the state a felony.  Republican State Sen. Blake Johnson from Corning is the sponsor of Senate Bill 247.

Currently, if someone is caught drag racing on a state highway, they are charged with a Class A misdemeanor.  The bill would make it a Class D felony if caught a second time.

According to reports, the number of citations given last year by the Arkansas State Police was 110, doubling the number from the previous year.
