The Poyen School District in Grant County recently announced they are switch to a 4-day week and the Pine Bluff School District is reportedly seeing feedback on adopting a similar schedule.

On Tuesday, Dr. Steven Bloomberg, President of Southeast Arkansas College was a guest on the Oldies 101.3 morning show how such a schedule could affect students prepare for state mandated testing and what affect that kind of schedule would have on instruction.

Bloomberg said colleges have been doing the same thing for a while.

During the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, many schools were forced to change from in-person instruction to remote learning, and many school districts found themselves providing lunches for home bound students. If for example Pine Bluff adopted a four-day week, how would that affect their food service.
