A Dermott man was killed in a one-vehicle traffic accident in Arkansas County Monday.
According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, Louis L. Proby, 49, was southbound on Highway 165 north of Gillett near D.A. Richter Lane when he lost control of the 2002 Buick he was driving, and the vehicle left the roadway and overturned.
Proby was pronounced dead at the scene by Arkansas County Deputy Coroner Jess Essex at 5:47 p.m.
The death was the 92nd on the state’s highways so far this year in 83 separate accidents.
