Five counties in Southeast Arkansas have received grants for courthouse restoration programs.

According to the Lincoln Ledger newspaper, Arkansas County, Bradley County, Chicot County, Dallas County, and Lincoln County all received money from the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, an agency of Arkansas Heritage.

The grants are funded by transfers from the Real Estate Transfer Tax administered by the Arkansas Natural and Cultural Council.

Arkansas County received grants of $41,334 and $62,480 for restoring third floor windows and completing the north ADA ramp; Bradley County received $254,000 to stabilize and repair the roof of the clock tower; Chicot County received $75,000 for water mitigation and drainage including roof drains; Dallas County received $85,000 to replace the cupola roof done and Lincoln County received $74,569 to complete targeted window restoration.
