According to Jefferson County Judge Gerald Robinson, Jefferson County has a 46.0% self-response rate as of the 27th of April to the 2020 census. The state average is 48.9%, and the national response rate is 53.2%.

The importance of getting a complete COUNT for our County is a top priority. It’s not too late to respond to the 2020 Census, Robinson said in a news release.  You still have time before the Census Bureau comes to you.

According to the Census Bureau’s website, you have until anywhere between May 27 and August 14 before census takers will conduct home interviews for those who haven’t responded. It isn’t yet clear how the coronavirus pandemic will affect in-person census taking.

You can fill out the short census questionnaire online (www.2020census.gov), by phone or through the mail.
