In light of the pandemic, community and churches have become more focused on health and wellness and even more interested in producing food and fruit/vegetable produce traditionally. Barraque Street Missionary Baptist Church located on 1811 W Pullen Avenue is hosting a Community Garden Dedication Saturday, April 3rd at 9 a.m. for members and residents in the Pine Bluff Northside University Park Community to address just that.
This event was brought together under the direction of church member and Pine Bluff local Jacquie Prior along with Reverand Sidney Milton Sr. to teach not only the youth, but parents, and other community residents the importance of home-grown produce/gardening.
Ms. Prior elaborated on the purpose of the dedication,
Prior also spoke about a possible produce giveaway in the future,
The community garden dedication is set to last until 5 p.m. Saturday evening.
