Many people are without power in South Arkansas, and one of the larger power utility companies in the area is C&L Electric, with offices in Sheridan and Star City.

A large amount of the power outages in the area at the time are for C&L customers.

The company provided an update Friday morning on their Facebook page:

Unfortunately, there is no change to the list of substations that are not energized due to the damaged transmission lines that provide their power. We have crews from Ashley-Chicot,(Hamburg), AECI Construction (Little Rock), AECI Right of Way (Little Rock), Petit Jean Electric,(Clinton), Carroll Electric (Berryville), Ozarks Electric (Fayetteville), Farmers Electric (Newport), and Southwest Arkansas REA (Texarkana), helping to rebuild lines, replace broken poles/electrical components, and clear debris on our system in preparation to receive power once these substations are energized.

We anticipate receiving more information later today regarding the status of the transmission lines. We will provide more details regarding restoration times when information is available. We apologize for the prolonged outages and uncertain restoration times.
