City of Pine Bluff Advancing Health Literacy Program Officially Launches

The City of Pine Bluff Advancing Health Literacy Program (AHLP) announced Wednesday, October 27th that its website is now available at http://www.pinebluffahlp.com. AHLP is a federally funded initiative focused on promoting health literacy, improving healthcare experiences, and promoting COVID-19 safeguards. Dorothy Oliver the program coordinator, Joyce Campbell the program outreach coordinator, and Deseray McKinzy the program media coordinator joined the Oldies 101.3 Morning Show to talk about their program. 

Campbell explained more about the program and its objectives.

After being asked about the other subjects that AHLP will cover, Campbell, responded.

The program is hosting an introductory launch event on November 18, the community is invited to join the AHLP team at the Seabrook Community Center at 6808 S Hazel Street for a launch event at 4:00 pm. Guests can engage with healthcare providers, ask questions, and learn about the information that can boost their health. COVID-19 vaccinations and booster shots will also be available between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm. Our launch event and presentation will begin at 3 pm until 4 pm.

They are also partnered with several community entities including Jefferson Regional, Jefferson Comprehensive Care, Inc., the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, and Southeast Arkansas College who will also be present at the event. The program advocates that by working together, we can all live healthier.
