According to the Advance-Monticellonian, due to the Christmas Holiday, the Monticello City Council held its monthly meeting last week on Thursday, December 15th. In that meeting, a special guest Chris Miller was present with Velys Robotic to answer questions about the potential purchase of an operating room robot.

Miller stated that Velys robot was significantly smaller than other similar products on the market, weighing just 35 pounds. After some discussion, and support from Dr. George Massaneli, the board approved the purchase of the robot on a month-to-month basis. If the robot proves to be unfit for the local market it may be returned to Veyls with a restocking fee of $7,500 within the first 12 months.
