Lincoln County Judge Buddy Lynn Earnest announced Tuesday morning he was lifting the burn ban in Lincoln County.

UPDATE 1:00 P.M.

Bradley, Cleveland, Dallas, Pulaski, and Saline counties have joined Jefferson and Grant counties in lifting their burn bans.

UPDATE: 10:45 A.M.

Effective immediately, the ban on outdoor burning imposed for Jefferson County is lifted.
Rainfall received recently has diminished the fire potential. Citizens are urged to continue to be extremely cautious when burning. Please practice the following safety measures: attend the fire at all times, don’t burn in high winds and keep a water source close by to control the fire.
Pine Bluff citizens are required, as always, to get burn permits before burning. To request a permit, call the Pine Bluff Fire Department at 870-730-2048.
A ban on burning may be reinstated in the future if necessary.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Grant County Judge Randy Pruitt has lifted the burn ban for Grant County following several days of rain in the area. Pruitt lifted the ban Monday morning.

Other counties in the area are still under burn bans as of Monday morning at 9:05 a.m.

Those counties still under a burn ban include:

Arkansas

Lincoln

Pulaski

Saline

Jefferson County Sheriff Lafayette Woods, Jr. spoke with Deltaple News late last week saying his Deputies will issue citations for anyone caught burning when local fire departments request for citations to be issued.

According to Arkansas State Law, Unlawful burning is a Class A misdemeanor: punishable by a fine not exceeding $1,000.00, or a jail sentence of not more than one (1) year, or both such fine and imprisonment.
