The State Medical Examiner’s Office will be asked to determine the cause and manner of death of a man found unresponsive outside a passenger vehicle that had hit a utility pole Wednesday night.
Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley identified the man as Edward Dewayne Brazell, 41, who was pronounced dead by a doctor in the Emergency Room at Jefferson Regional Hospital at 9:39 p.m.
According to a Police press release early Thursday, officers had responded to a reported disturbance in the area of 13th Avenue and Plum Street shortly after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and found Brazell.
Police said the driver of the vehicle is cooperating with investigators and noted the investigation is in its early stages.
No further information on the incident had been released early Thursday afternoon.
