The Jefferson County Assessor office, represented by Deputy Assessor Gloria Tillman and Assessor Yvonne Humphrey talked to Deltaplex News on Tuesday to discuss the role of their office, and the importance of getting vehicles assessed. After being asked what it meant to get assessed and why legally all residents have to, Tillman said,
In terms of revenue that is collected in a county, Humphrey explained the process of where the fees go as tax dollars,
Humphrey also broke down the amount of taxes that each city and county departments receive,
If individuals disagree with their assessment, Tillman explained how that process would work,
