The so-called hamburger tax which was approved by voters in Pine Bluff in 1977 and began to be collected in 1978 generated $1.6 million annually for the city’s Advertising and Tourism Promotion (A&P) annually. Of that, $1 million goes to the Pine Bluff Convention Center.

On Monday, Sherrie Storie, the director of A&P appeared on the Oldies 1013 morning show and was asked about that million dollars.

Storie said the Pine Bluff City Council had approved plans for a cultural district and morning show host Greg Horne asked her to explain that.

Later in the interview, Storie talked about the casino’s tax revenue which averages $150,000 a month.
