The Advertising and Promotion Commission on Thursday awarded $250,000 to nine non-profit groups for upcoming events, programs and tourism related facilities, according to a press release.

Included in the group were the Arkansas Railroad Museum, the Arts and Science Center for Southeast Arkansas, Black Pilots of America – Operation Skyhook. CASA Half Marathon, Delta Rivers Nature Center – Wetlands and Wildlife Festival, Gloves Not Guns, Go Forward Pine Bluff, South Arkansas Livestock Association – Hestand Stadium and Taylor Field.

The Commission also approved funding for the Pine Bluff Convention Center in the amount of $1,011,000.

Sheri Story, the director of the A&P Commission said their revenue is generated from the two-percent tax on prepared food and the three-percent lodging tax. She said grant funding has increased every years since 2018.
