The Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technology, Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) Program is now accepting competition applications for the 2022-2023 year until February 1st.

The ACT-SO Program is part of the Pine Bluff Branch NAACP. It is an academic Olympics program designed to support the academic achievements of African-American high school students. The competition categories locally and nationally include visual arts, performing arts, humanities, STEM, business, and culinary arts.

Students win monetary prizes for first, second, and third place in local competitions. In addition, first-place winners will receive an opportunity to participate in the national competition scheduled for July 2023 in Boston, MA. National winners receive cash prizes, scholarships, gifts of technology, and much more.

ACT-SO is a community-based program that provides multiple opportunities for involvement. Community members may participate as chairpersons, mentors, sponsors, organizers, competitors, benefactors, educational partners, etc. The program receives support from schools, local businesses, community organizations, churches, foundations, major corporations, and individuals.
