Jarrod Foxworthy, 24, was taken into custody by Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies who found him driving the car, Deputy Prosecutor Shana Alexander said during a court hearing Monday.

Reading from an affidavit by Sheriff’s Investigator Rodney Allen, Alexander said at about 6:30 p.m., deputies were sent to a house on Scopes Road where Foxworthy’s mother said he had showed up at her house, took the keys to her vehicle and left.

Alexander said Foxworthy has no prior convictions or pending charges.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $5,000 bond for Foxworthy after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with residential burglary and theft of property.

He was told to come back to court July 1.
