After filing numerous requests for a police report, Deltaplex News has now learned that Jefferson County JP Brenda Bishop-Gaddy was driving a vehicle early Sunday morning when she hit a bicyclist on Olive Street. 66-year-old Dwayne Stevens was riding his bike just after 5:20 on Sunday morning when he was struck by a black SUV driven by Gaddy. Gaddy remained at the scene and was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center after her blood pressure was reported to be elevated. Deltaplex News has not ascertained whether any tests were run on Gaddy at the scene or at the hospital. Gaddy was narrowly re-elected to her District 13 Justice Of The Peace position back in March. She was in attendance at last night’s Quorum Court meeting after arriving late. The Pine Bluff Police Department has told Deltaplex News this is considered a criminal investigation and that was the reason given for not releasing the police report.
