A $5,000 secured bond was set for a Pine Bluff woman accused of holding a knife to her daughter’s throat while grabbing her by the hair and threatening to kill her.
Pine Bluff District Judge Kim Bridgeforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge 58-year-old Joann Ishmon with Aggravated Assault on a Family or Household Member and First-Degree Terroristic Threatening.
Reading from an affidavit by Pine Bluff Police Department Detective Sgt. Jason Boykin, Prosecuting Attorney Jim Williams said officers were dispatched to an apartment building in response to an armed disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim, who said Ishmon threatened her with a knife while holding her by the hair.
Officers transported Ishmon to the Detective Office for an interview. During a separate interview, the victim told investigators her mother, Ishmon, has a history of mental health issues.
She said she had been helping around her mother’s house when Ishmon became upset.
The victim said the two began arguing before Ishmon lunged at her, grabbed her by the hair and held a knife to her throat.
Ishmon was ordered to have no contact with the victim and is scheduled to return to court on Sept. 2.
