The Sheridan Police Department and Grant County Sheriff’s Office are reminding drivers to slow down and follow traffic laws as the agencies prepare to participate in a statewide enforcement effort.
Beginning Friday, July 10, and continuing through Friday, July 31, officers and deputies will conduct highly visible traffic enforcement throughout the area.
The primary focus of the campaign will be speeding violations. Law enforcement officers will also be watching for impaired driving, seat belt violations and distracted driving.
The increased enforcement effort is aimed at reducing traffic accidents and improving safety on area roadways.
Drivers are encouraged to obey posted speed limits, buckle up, avoid distractions while behind the wheel and never drive while impaired.
