The Highway 15 South Volunteer Fire Department has released a statement exclusively to Deltaplex News regarding the arrest of one of it’s former volunteers. The statement was released by Chief Ron Powell.

The Highway 15 South Volunteer Fire Department has been made aware of the arrest of volunteer firefighter Jesse Milner on charges involving alleged sexual offenses against a minor.  Our department is shocked and deeply disturbed by the nature of these allegations.
The Highway 15 South Volunteer Fire Department had no knowledge of, involvement in, or connection to the alleged conduct that led to these charges.
Although Jesse Milner remained listed as a member of the Highway 15 South Volunteer Fire Department, he has not been actively responding to calls or participating in department operations for an extended period of time. Effective immediately, he has been released from the Highway 15 South Volunteer Fire Department and is no longer affiliated with our organization.
The Highway 15 South Volunteer Fire Department does not condone or tolerate conduct of this nature. These allegations do not reflect the values, standards, or character of our department or the dedicated volunteers who serve our community.
We understand the concern and disappointment this news may cause within our community. We remain committed to serving the public with integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
As this is an active legal matter, the Highway 15 South Volunteer Fire Department will not comment further on the details of the case at this time.

Milner, who was named the Volunteer of The Year by the department two years ago was described in an interview with Deltaplex News as having done great work for the department including updating the camera systems. Milner was arrested on Sunday night following an investigation instigated by an online predator watchdog group that conducts sting operations. Milner is being held in the Dub Brassel Detention Center on allegations of sexual solicitation of a minor, internet stalking of a child, computer exploitation of a child and sexually grooming of a child. He is still awaiting a probable cause hearing.
