A $5,000 bond was set Wednesday for a Pine Bluff woman accused of shoplifting from Walmart and having drug paraphernalia in her bag.
Pine Bluff District Judge Kim Bridgeforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge 35-year-old Aubrey Donson with Felony Theft and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The Jail log has Donson listed as male, but she is female.
Reading from an affidavit, Prosecuting Attorney Shana Alexander said on May 5th of this year, a police officer was working off duty at Walmart when he observed her through security cameras riding a motorized shopping cart and placing items in her personal bag.
Officer Edwards attempted to apprehend Donson, but she refused to comply with arrest. She was taken into custody, and a search of her belongings revealed inside of a red velvet bag, there was a glass pipe with residue inside of it. The total amount for unpaid for merchandise was determined to be $193.65.
Donson has prior convictions, with Shoplifting on July 2019 in Pine Bluff, a previous felony conviction in 2015, and had a pending case for Theft of Property of B Felony and Possession of Controlled Substances and Paraphernalia.
She was ordered to return to court on June 24th.
