The burn ban for Jefferson County has been lifted effective immediately, according to County Judge Gerald Robinson.
While outdoor burning is now permitted, officials are urging residents to use extreme caution. Safety guidelines include attending fires at all times, avoiding burning during high winds and keeping a water source nearby to quickly control flames if needed.
In Pine Bluff, residents are still required to obtain a burn permit before conducting any outdoor burning. Permits can be requested by contacting the Pine Bluff Fire Department at 870-730-2048.
Officials noted that the burn ban could be reinstated if conditions warrant in the future.
