Homicide Suspect Captured in Little Rock, To Be Returned to Pine Bluff

A suspect wanted in connection with a March 1 homicide in Pine Bluff has been taken into custody in Little Rock.

According to the Pine Bluff Police Department, Samuel Wimbly was located March 5 by members of the United States Marshals Service. Authorities said Wimbly was taken into custody without incident and is expected to be transported back to Pine Bluff.

Upon his return, Wimbly will be booked into the Jefferson County Jail on charges of capital murder and possession of a firearm by certain persons.

The arrest stems from a homicide investigation that began just after noon March 1, when Pine Bluff officers responded to a 911 hang-up call at 6515 Cimarron.

Family members forced entry into the residence after being unable to contact the occupant. Inside, they found 40-year-old Kinyatta Ringo-Wimbly unresponsive with apparent gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene. No other individuals were located inside the home.

The victim was transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory, where an autopsy will determine the official cause and manner of death.

Police thanked the U.S. Marshals Service and partnering agencies for their assistance in locating and apprehending the suspect.
