A single vehicle accident in the early morning hours Sunday resulted in the deaths of two people.
Pine Bluff Police Lt. David DeFoor identified the victims as Dennis Mendenhall, 20, and Daniel Thompson, 18, both of Pine Bluff. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident occurred on West 6th Avenue near Cypress Street and was discovered by police who had left another call and were traveling east on Cypress Street when one of the officers saw something “odd in the grass” and discovered one of the bodies.
DeFoor said that was about 4:15 a.m., and officers began searching and found the second victim as well as multiple vehicle parts including an engine and transmission.
