Two students from Pine Bluff Lighthouse Academy win Spelling Bee

Pine Bluff Lighthouse Academy recently announced two students that competed in the district’s very first Spelling Bee hosted by Friendship Academy Highschool featuring elementary students (K-5) from the Pine Bluff School District, Friendship, and Capital City Lighthouse in April. Those two students Jordan Givens a 5th grader, and Jakob Craig a Kindergartner, won first place in the competition.

Pine Bluff Lighthouse Academy Principal John Osborn invited Deltaplex News to highlight those students, and he explained more about how the spelling bee competition developed.

Givens spoke with Deltaplex News about why he wanted to participate and how he feels about his new accomplishment.

Osborn highlighted the competition’s outcome and future plans for similar activities.
