A $50,000 bond was set Friday for a woman accused of injuring a nurse and two police officers Wednesday.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Samantha Smith, 28, with three counts of second-degree battery.
Reading from an affidavit by Detective Sgt. Chris Wieland, Deput Prosecutor Joe West said in the late morning Wednesday, Officer Phillip Meachem was working off-duty security at Jefferson Regional Hospital when he heard on the radio that a woman later identified as Smith had punched a nurse who was caring for her and left the hospital.
West said Smith has multiple prior felony convictions in Pulaski, Lonoke and White Counties and pending felony charges on Faulkner and Pulaski Counties.
She was ordered to have no contact with the victims and told to come back to court Jan. 18.
