A fatal crash occurred on Sunday evening at 5 p.m. that resulted in the death of one Dewitt resident.
Crystal Papa 42, was driving her 2002 Kia Optima east on highway 276 when the vehicle drove off the north side of the roadway and flipped over onto its roof. The vehicle then traveled down the ditch sliding into the water upside down.
The driver was pronounced deceased on scene by the Arkansas County coroner Cooper Essex at 7:40 p.m. State police reported that the weather at the time of the accident was cloudy and dry.
The death was the 207th reported so far this year on the state’s highways.
