A $2,500 bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man who was arrested after a handgun that had been reported stolen was found in the passenger side floorboard of the car he was riding in.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Dekayvan Kelly, 26, with theft by receiving.

Reading from an affidavit by White Hall Police Investigator Charles Treadway, Deputy Prosecutor Lisa McGriff said White Hall Police Officer Michael Musgrove was patrolling on Dollarway Road and stopped a 2016 Dodge Charger at 9:20 p.m. because the passenger side headlight was out.

When Kelly was interviewed, he said he had gotten the gun from an ex-girlfriend. He was told to come back to court Sept. 5.
