A $25,000 bond was set Wednesday for a Pine Bluff man on drug and weapons related charges.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Colby Johnson, 30, with possession of drug paraphernalia and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms.

Reading from an affidavit by White Hall Police Investigator Ryan Edwards, Deputy Prosecutor Brittaney Akel said at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, White Hall police were patrolling Dollarway Road when they saw a black pickup truck traveling south that had a taillight and the license plate light out and conducted a traffic stop.

Akel said Johnson has two prior drug related felony convictions from 2018. He said he would hire his own attorney and was told to come back to court Oct. 6.
