PINE BLUFF, AR — The 2023 MLB Pitch, Hit and Run Contest took place here at Historic Taylor Field for baseball/softball players ages 7-14.

Participants were from Pine Bluff, White Hall, Sheridan, Rison, Woodlawn, Star City, Warren, Redfield, Poyen, Prattsville and Fordyce that attended the event that was Powered by PRO-DAY Baseball.

“I thought it was a good turnout from participants from 11 cities with less than three weeks to promote the event,” said Jeff Gross, founder of PRO-DAY Baseball.

“Several players have been playing in either Little League, Babe Ruth, Travel or Tournament Ball,” said Gross. “We also had participants just getting started which is another reason the importance of this event to promote baseball and softball to kids.”

The Top performing winners from these Local/State events will go into a pool with all other local event winners. Once all local events are completed, the top overall performing winners will be selected to attend a Team Championship which will be hosted by MLB teams or affiliates across the country.

The winners with the highest scores in the Team Championship will have a chance to qualify for the National Finals.

The National Finals is an all-expenses paid trip for the winner and one guardian to compete during the MLB World Series.
