#2 Ranked Diamond Hogs’ Defeat SEMO in Extra-Inning

2 Arkansas Makes Return to Baum-Walker Stadium for Four Games with SEMO | Arkansas Razorbacks

Junior shortstop Jalen Battles had the game winning RBI when his bottom of the tenth inning single  pushed the #2 ranked diamond Hogs past SEMO 6-5 at Baum Walker Stadium yesterday evening.

Southeast Missouri State pitcher Blake Cisneros received the loss after only three pitches before giving up the game winner in his only inning of work. SEMO starting pitcher Dylan Dodd held the Razorbacks at bay early, relinquishing only two hits and striking out ten in six innings holding a 3-2 lead. Arkansas (4-0) would give up 2 runs in the top of the 8th, and score 3 in the bottom of the ninth to send the game into an extra inning. Battles’ single scored catcher Casey Opitz who reached base on a one-out double.

Battles led the way at the plate for the Hogs gong 2-5 with 2 RBIs including the game winner also scoring a run. Casey Opitz also went 2-5 and scored as well. Christian Franklin(1) and Brady Slavens(2) both had homeruns in the win.

The Diamond Hogs will continue their series with SEMO today at Baum Walker Stadium, first pitch scheduled for 3p.m.
