$10,000 bond set for Pine Bluff man arrested after a traffic stop conducted by Arkansas State Police due to the vehicle he was driving being reported stolen.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Darrell Johnson 31, with theft of property and defacing a firearm.

Reading from a probable cause affidavit from State Police Officer Darrell Hinton Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson said that Hinton saw a red Hyundai Elantra traveling on 28th avenue with a defective tail lamp and when he ran the car tag number the vehicle came back as recently being reported stolen.

Carson went on to explain what happened next.

Johnson said he would let the court know if he would hire his own attorney and he was told to return to court on December 9th.
