A three-vehicle accident in Little Rock Sunday afternoon resulted in the death of one person and injuries to four more.
According to a preliminary report, Denise Ann Chavez 46, of Little Rock was westbound on Young Road and was making a left turn onto Geyer Springs Road when the 2019 Hyundai she was driving was struck by a 2008 Chevrolet driven by Alberto Daniel Palma, 18, of Little Rock that had been northbound on Geyer Springs Road.
After the initial impact, the Hyundai traveled north and struck a 2010 Pontiac driven by Staisha Marie Jackson, 25, of Little Rock that was stopped on Geyer Springs Road and Young Road.
Police reported that all the occupants of the three vehicles were taken to hospitals and Chavez was pronounced dead.
In addition to the drivers of the other vehicles, a minor in the vehicle driven by Chavez and Alejandro Armenta Lara, 20, who was in the Chevrolet were injured.
The accident was reported at 1:25 p.m. and the death was the 155th so far this year on the state’s highways.
