Three current members of Yes and Mountain frontman Leslie West are among the latest artists and music-biz figures who have signed on to host upcoming editions of Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp’s series of “Masterclass” virtual tutorials.
Yes guitarist Steve Howe, drummer Alan White and keyboardist Geoff Downes will be presenting separate interactive online classes on September 13 — at 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. ET, respectively. West’s “Masterclass” event is scheduled for August 28.
Other well-known artists who will host newly announced “Masterclasses” include Billy Idol guitarist Steve Stevens on August 9, Rob Zombie guitarist John 5 on August 11, Night Ranger singer/bassist Jack Blades on August 13, ex-Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman on August 18, Dream Theater drummer Mike Mangini on August 23, Dream Theater keyboardist Jordan Rudess and Judas Priest guitarist Richie Faulkner on August 29, and former Skid Row frontman Sebastian Bach on September 10.
In addition, a special multiple-artist drum tutorial celebrating the legacy of Rush‘s Neil Peart and jazz great Buddy Rich and featuring Deep Purple‘s Ian Paice, ex-Guns N’ Roses member Matt Sorum is scheduled for August 22.
The events are limited to either 20 or 25 attendees. During the Masterclasses, the featured artists will share vocal, musical and/or songwriting tips, tell stories about their eventful careers, answer questions from attendees and more. In addition, surprise guest artists may pop into online classes unannounced.
