A Pine Bluff woman was arrested Saturday after she allegedly kicked a police officer who had placed her under arrest.

Sharnell Boykin, 19, was taken into custody after police responded to a reported domestic disturbance at an apartment in the 2400 block of Main Street at 1:30 a.m.

Reading from a probable cause affidavit from Detective Jason Boykin, Deputy Prosecutor Jill explained why Boykin, no relation to Detective Boykin, was arrested.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $2,500 bond for Boykin after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge her with a second-degree battery of a police officer and a third-degree domestic battery.

She was ordered to have no contact with the victims and told to come back to court on May 10.
