In February, the White Hall School Board voted to hire former Arkansas Razorback and professional football player Ryan Mallett as the new head football coach, replacing Coach Bobby Bolding who resigned.

On Thursday, White Hall School District Superintendent Doug Dorris appeared on the Oldies 101.3 morning show and was asked how the reaction to the Mallet hiring has been.

Dorris said Mallett will begin work in the district on Monday.

While Mallet has only coached at the high school level for two years, Dorris said he has an advantage many other coaches don’t have.

Former Head Football Coach Bobby Bolding, who took the team to the state championship last year, will remain at the school as the athletic director.
